Tomorrow’s cover today: people are right to be angry. But it is also right to be worried about where populism could take politics.
If you have the gall to be worried about where populism could take politics, you’re nothing but a classist fear monger. THE WHOLE POINT of democracy is that the country does what the majority wants. That’s why we VOTE. That’s what it says in the “Democracy” sales brochure, anyway. And asking the question “can we trust what the majority thinks?” is the same as asking “does the general public have a fucking clue?”
My answer is, of course, no, but whose fault is that? If you educate the public by forcing holders of broadcast licenses to provide accurate news coverage instead of the biased crap they give us now, We, The People, just might be capable of making a smart choice.
So, let’s cut education funding and then point to the stupids as an excuse to put more power in the hands of the “rich” and the “educated.”
What the fuck. I’m really getting sick of this country.
