Ron Paul: US-born al-Qaida cleric 'assassinated'

thestealthblogger:

Memo to Jon Stewart: Shit like this is why the media doesn’t take Ron Paul seriously.

Because the media thinks executing Americans without trial is a good thing?

OH, duh—of course they do. The media loves death and destruction. #StupidMe

For the record I don’t like Ron Paul. I agree with him on a vast number of issues but disagree with him on quite a few, as well. The whole “assassinating American citizens because we don’t like them” is one of the things I agree with Ron Paul as it goes to the whole “protecting human rights” thing—you know, that’s the stuff the US Constitution guarantees all humans.  Cuz like, we’re all supposed to be created equal and stuff.

Or does that not apply to some folks?

Barack Obama goes on the Daily Show and gets tumblr-blogged…

“When we promised during the campaign change you can believe in, it wasn’t change you can believe in in 18 months. It was change you can believe in but were going to have to work for it.” - President Obama told Jon Stewart before a wildly enthusiastic crowd of 550 at the Harman Center for the Arts in downtown Washington.
The 30-minute interview will air tonight on The Daily Show.

Very fair point, President Obama. Also, sweet mug.

Meh, I disagree—if he had meant that, he should have said that.  Preach it to us—make us understand what being grown-up is like, instead of pandering to our hopes and dreams like all politicians do. Besides, how much did you promise specifically that you would do but have yet to?  There are still troops in Iraq, Gitmo is open, and I read someplace you think it’s OK to assassinate an American citizen just because you think he’s a terrorist? What’s up with that?

About:

The idea is that all of human society is based on a power structure that enslaves the trusting/ignorant and rewards the greedy and the dishonest. From government, to business to our individual lives, all of our actions are tailored to further support a system that exploits all of us and wastes our lives in the process. Website666.com endeavors to explain how. Shape-shifting lizards aren't running the world, but they might as well be. Only a sociopath would think they deserve to run things.
